New functionality: Temporarily disable dock points
Temporarily suppressing dock points is now possible using the Alt key.
New Functionality: Scale Correction When Importing Background Plans
When importing background plans, help is now offered to correctly define the scale.
For more information, see Import Wizard.
Optimization: Rotate Function in Import Wizard
The "Rotate" function now accepts negative numbers.
Optimization: Lock Files Are Deleted on Program Crash
Previously, the lock file was not automatically deleted during program crashes, resulting in file blocking. Now, the lock file is automatically deleted upon program crash to prevent file blocking.
Optimization: Identical Files Can Be Overwritten with "Save As"
"Save As" now allows you to overwrite identical files if the file is protected by a lock file.
Optimization: QuickSupport Update
The integrated QuickSupport (TeamViewer) has been updated to the latest version.
Fixes: Eraser Layer Caused Program Crash
The RED CAD app crashed when opening files that used an active erase layer. This bug has been fixed.
Fixes: Drag & Drop Fixed
Objects could no longer be moved to layers via drag and drop in the Scenario Manager. This bug has been fixed.
Fixes: Background Plans incl. DWG Snap
Various bugs have been fixed for imported background plans and the "DWG Snap" function.
Fixes: Copying/Pasting Text Boxes
When copying text boxes with a background color, the text was covered upon pasting and was therefore no longer visible. This bug has been fixed.
Fixes: Custom Layers Could Be Cut with Ctrl+X
When objects/symbols were cut using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+X (Cut) and were located in a custom layer, this sometimes resulted in the entire layer being lost. This bug has been fixed.
Functionality – DWG/DXF Snap (not just during import)
Starting with version 3.16.1.0, the RED CAD APP features DWG/DXF snapping. DWG/DXF snapping can be activated as needed via the Plan tab and allows for more precise planning of installation plans.
Scenario Manager: Rename multiple symbols/drawing objects simultaneously
In the Scenario Manager, multiple symbols/drawing objects can now be selected and renamed simultaneously. Selecting multiple symbols/drawing objects is done using Ctrl + Left Mouse Button.
Scenario Manager: Automatic scrolling during drag & drop has been implemented
The Auto Scroll function has been implemented in the Scenario Manager. This will make it easier to move symbols/drawing objects when you reach the edge of the display area; that is, when you reach the edge of the display area, the Scenario Manager will automatically scroll up or down.
Import Wizard: Error message when model space is empty
DWG/DXF files have two types of views: model space and paper space (standardized by Autodesk. Autodesk is the originator of the DXF/DWG file formats). Model space is the main drawing area of a DWG/DXF file.
The RED CAD app only reads the model space. If this model space is not present, the user will now see a warning message.
Schema: Various Improvements for Cross-References
Various improvements to the Cross-References functionality have been implemented.
Optimization: Copy/Paste Performance Improved
The copy/paste function has been reworked, resulting in improved performance.
Optimization: Performance for Distance Rings and Crosshairs Improved
Performance when drawing with distance rings and the crosshairs has been improved.
Fixes: Context Menu - Mirror/Rotate
The mirror/rotate function in the context menu (right-click) is working again.
Fixes: Drawing Walls
Straight walls were displayed incorrectly. When drawing a straight wall, incorrect dividing lines were drawn. The display has been corrected.
Fixes: Wall Opening Symbols
The wall opening symbols were the wrong size. All wall opening symbols in the toolbars have been corrected.
Important note: Documents created/saved with v3.16.00.00 cannot be edited/opened in older versions.
New Functionality: File Lock Handling Implemented
When a document (plan, diagram, or project) is opened, the RED CAD APP creates a file with the same name and the extension ".lock" in the file's location. This locks the document, preventing it from being modified or overwritten by any other user. When the document is closed, this ".lock" file is deleted, and the document becomes accessible to other users again.
Fixed Bug in "Paste at Mouse Pointer" Function
The "Paste at Mouse Pointer" function has been optimized.
In previous versions, elements/objects were inserted in incorrect positions due to unintended movement. This bug has been fixed.
Improved Print Area Movement (Plan is Moveable)
An improvement has been implemented for setting the print area. It is now possible to move the imported plan while the print area is set. This allows for better placement of the plan within the print area.
Recently Edited Documents" Redesign
The "Recently Edited Documents" view in the main menu has been completely redesigned. The following features are new:
Import Wizard "Layer Selection" Redesign
In rare cases, and only on some computers, the Import Wizard caused a direct program crash when attempting to display the window. The error was traced back to the layer selection. The layer selection view has been completely redesigned.
Custom Toolbox Import Fixed
The "Import Custom Toolbox" function via the Main Menu → Toolbox Management caused the RED CAD app to crash. This function has been fixed and is working correctly again.
Schema: Cross-references implemented
Starting with version 3.16.00.00, the Schematic/Circuit Diagram module gains a new feature: cross-references. It is now possible to define and create automated cross-references.
Further information can be found in the Cross-references documentation.
Schema: Predefined lines + multiple lines
Starting with version 3.16.00.00, the Schematic/Circuit Diagram module includes predefined lines and multiple lines.
Schema: Drawing lines with path input via keyboard
Starting with this version, it is possible to draw lines using keyboard input. Previously, this only worked with symbols by selecting the symbol and entering the path.
Schema: Bug fixes for drawing with keyboard input
Setting symbols via keyboard input only worked up to path 9. Larger path numbers were not supported. This has been changed, and larger numbers can now be entered.
Schema: The context menu on pages has been corrected and expanded
The context menu (right-click) previously only worked if you clicked directly on the page name or page in the Scenario Manager. This has been corrected and expanded so that a right-click now responds to the entire width of the line.
Schema: Pages are now always automatically sorted
Starting with version 3.16.00.00, pages within the Scenario Manager are always sorted numerically.
Schema: Connection points are automatically added
Connection points are now automatically drawn when you draw a line at a 90° angle away from another line or connect it to another line at a 90° angle.
Schema: Warning displayed for duplicate page numbers
A warning message now appears if a page number is already in use within the schematic/circuit diagram. Duplicate page numbers must still be corrected manually via the Scenario Manager.
Schema: Page Numbering Bug Fix
When adding or renaming pages, the sorting became arbitrary because the pages shifted "on their own." This bug has been fixed.
