Improvement: Scale correction during import has been adjusted
The rounding method for scale correction in the import wizard has been optimized. The rounding increments are now smaller.
Fixed: Schematic – Printing does not print all pages
When printing schematic/circuit diagram documents, the layout and installation information were no longer visible from the second page onward.
This issue has been resolved.
Improvement: Cross-reference font via program settings
Previously, font settings for cross-references could only be configured via the document settings. However, the changes only applied to the currently open document.
Now, font settings can be defined globally via Program settings → Schematic/Circuit diagram → Cross-reference font.
These font settings will then be the default for all new schematic/circuit diagram documents.
Fixed: New files are marked as "modified"
New or newly opened documents were incorrectly marked as modified. This caused the save prompt to appear when closing the document.
This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: Visible Area is incorrectly scaled and moved
The areas created in the "Visible Area" function were incorrectly scaled when scaling an imported background plan. As a result, these areas were in completely incorrect positions when the background plan was subsequently moved.
This problem has been fixed.
Feature: Schematic Background Plan – Vertical Scaling
Vertical scaling has been added to the Schematic/Circular Diagram Import Wizard.
Vertical scaling helps with scaling PDF and DWG circuit diagrams imported into the RED CAD APP. Previously, only horizontal scaling was possible.
Improvement: Symbols are no longer transparent
The background of some symbols, such as those for penetrations, was transparent. This made them difficult to see on the diagram.
All symbols with transparent backgrounds now have a fill to ensure visibility.
Improvement: Crosshairs & Distance Rings Rotate When Drawing Polygons
The crosshairs and distance rings were incorrectly rotating when drawing polygons.
Fixing the rotation issue improved drawing with crosshairs or spacer rings.
Improvement: "Check for Updates" Remains Visible
If automatic update checks were disabled in the program settings, the button for manual update checks disappeared.
This issue has been resolved and the functionality improved.
Improvement: Cross-references Sorted by Y-Order
When cross-references were created across multiple lines, the Y-axis order on the target page was incorrect.
Cross-references created across multiple lines are now generated with the correct Y-axis order, thus optimizing the functionality.
Improvement: Detection of File Path of an Opened File
Some users changed the save path of open files, or the name of the folder containing the file was changed by the user during editing. This triggered an error when autosave or manual saving was performed.
Now, no error is triggered; instead, the "Save As" dialog opens to save the file to the new path.
Fixed: Schematic - PDF Background Plans Are Printed on First Print
Schematic/circuit diagram documents with imported PDF files were not being printed correctly on the first print.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Deleted Symbols Are Restored
When using area outlines, deleted symbols were restored as soon as a new symbol was placed.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: DWG/DXF Export - Dimension Line Error
When exporting to DWG/DXF, the drawn dimension lines were placed at incorrect coordinates. This issue only occurred when there was an insertion point in the diagram. This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Schematic - Duplicating Page Copies Schematic Title Block
The title block was inadvertently copied when duplicating schematic/circuit diagram pages.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Several spelling errors corrected in Electrical Planning Toolbox
Spelling errors that existed in the "Electrical" symbol database have been corrected.
Fixed: Adding edit points causes dock point problems
When adding edit points to drawn lines, wires, pipes, etc., via right-click → Edit Mode → Add Edit Point, this caused a program crash or problems with the dock points.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Symbols disappear when ungrouping
When a group of symbols was copied and then ungrouped, some symbols disappeared.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Scaled floor plans with visible area are now saved correctly
Scaled floor plans with a visible area were not being saved correctly. This meant that the floor plans were no longer visible when the file was reopened.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Tool reset when exiting "Visible Area"
The drawing function used to define the visible area remained active when exiting the "Visible Area" function.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: DXF/DWG – Polylines with GlobalWidth
Polylines with a specific global line width (GlobalWidth) defined in the DWG/DXF file were not displayed correctly or were barely visible.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Delete layer now moves correctly on scaled floor plans
The delete layer was not moving correctly on scaled floor plans.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Multiple lines/pipes on a locked scenario caused a crash
Drawing multiple lines, pipes, or conduits on a locked scenario caused the program to crash.
This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Plan dialog corrected for multi-page PDFs
The wrong import dialog was displayed when importing a multi-page PDF file.
This issue has been resolved.
Feature: Updated Licensing Service
Due to the implementation of a new ERP system, the licensing service has been completely redesigned. This update allows the RED CAD APP to integrate more closely with the new ERP system and enables faster connection to the licensing service. Network licenses are no longer supported (the tab on the license screen contains the corresponding note). Older versions are still supported.
Feature: Import Wizard – Layer Detection
Layers can now be detected when clicking on objects in a DWG/DXF file. Layer detection allows for faster selection and subsequent hiding of layers. This detection feature is only available in the Import Wizard → Layer Selection.
Feature: New Drawing Function – Arc Segment
The Drawing tab now includes a new "Arc Segment" drawing function. This allows for the precise drawing of arc segments in just three clicks.
Feature: Default File Folder Path
A default folder can now be defined in the program settings. Once a default folder is set, it will be used when opening, saving, and saving new files.
Feature: Layer Sorting by Name
The layers in DWG, DXF, and PDF files are now listed sorted by name in the Scenario Manager and the Import Wizard.
Feature: Steiger 2023 Implemented
The Steiger 2023 data has been implemented, thus supporting the online version of the e-book.
Fixed: Polygon incorrectly closes when pressing the R key
Normally, when drawing a shape, pressing the R key deletes the last segment point. However, with polygons, the drawing was stopped immediately. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: Text symbols can no longer be selected
User-created text boxes that were saved as symbols could no longer be selected after placement. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: 1x1 artboard size is automatically corrected
In some cases, files with a 1x1 artboard size were loaded, and the size could not be corrected by the user via the document settings. Upon opening, this incorrect size is now detected and corrected automatically.
Fixed: "Send to Back" no longer affects delete layer visibility
The "Send to Back" or "Send to Foreground" function made areas deleted by the delete layer visible again. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: Multi-Line Wizard – Spacing is now correctly applied
When multi-line elements were defined using the wizard, the spacing between the individual lines was not being applied correctly. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: Line (including conduits) rotation point is now updated
When the lengths of lines (including conduits) were changed via segment points or properties, the center point (rotation point) was being updated. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: "Detach from Docking Points" with UP Cables Causes Crash
If the "Detach from Docking Point" function was executed via the context menu for UP cables, it caused a program crash. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: Schematic - System Names Can Be Set Again (Without Title Block)
It is now possible to set the system name via the Scenario Manager if a schematic/circuit diagram does not have a title block. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: Underfloor Heating Wizard - Defining Supply and Return Pipes Causes Crash
Attempting to define the supply and return pipes using the Underfloor Heating Wizard caused a crash. This issue has been fixed.
