Feature: Metaroom DXF Import
The RED CAD app now has an interface that allows you to import DXF files generated by the Metaroom app. The advantage is that the Metaroom DXF files no longer need to be measured, as the scaling factor is automatically detected. Further information can be found at:

Fixed: Improved stability of the underfloor heating assistant
Several corrections have been made to the source code of the underfloor heating assistant, which contribute to its stability. There were isolated cases where the assistant crashed, and these optimizations should now prevent that.
Fixed: Changes made via the Properties window did not correctly update the document status
When changes were made via the Properties window (such as changing the height of objects, renaming, etc.), these changes were not recognized, and the document status was set to "Document has been modified." As a result, no save prompt appeared when closing the file, which could lead to the loss of the changes. This behavior has been adjusted, thus correcting the data loss issue.
Correction: Arthur Flury – Symbol labels no longer visible
The default labels for the "Connectors" and "Terminals" symbols were no longer visible. Attempting to activate the labels via the Properties window also no longer worked. This problem has been fixed.
Fixed: Waiting window no longer displayed when minimized
The loading and saving animation, or waiting window, was always displayed even when the RED CAD app was minimized. This issue has been fixed.
Fixed: DWG/DXF files are now exported with the original drawing unit
Until now, imported DWG/DXF files were converted to the DWG/DXF drawing unit "meter" upon export. This conversion of the drawing unit caused scaling problems in some CAD programs.
Now, no conversion is performed during export, and the original drawing unit is used. This has resolved the issue.
Fixed: LeanConnect – Symbol Placement Corrected – ESC Key / Multiple Clicks
Two problems could occur in LeanConnect projects when placing symbols:
If the ESC key was pressed after placing a symbol, the symbol was incorrectly removed.
When placing a symbol outside an area, a warning message appeared. Multiple clicks were then necessary to correctly position the symbol within the area.
Both problems have been fixed.
Fixed: Crash when setting legend prevented
In specific and extremely rare circumstances, the RED CAD APP would crash when creating a legend.
The bug has been analyzed and fixed.
Improvements: DWG/DXF Export Dialog and Image Export Adjusted
The DWG/DXF export dialog has been adjusted.
Now, only DWG/DXF files with the status "Visible" in the planning view will be available for selection.
The "Do not export images" option now also applies to images saved as icons.
Improvement: LeanConnect – If no email address is provided, a login window opens automatically
Previously, exporting a LeanConnect project caused problems if no email address was registered for the LeanConnect account – this prevented the export.
The export process has now been improved. If no email address is provided, the login window opens automatically to log in to the LeanConnect account. The export can then proceed smoothly.
Improvement: Schematic/Circuit Diagram – New page inherits the schematic number from the previous page
Previously, when creating a new page, the schematic number entered in the title block was not transferred from the previous page. Now, the entered schematic number is transferred.
Improvement: Fire protection colors translated in color selection
The fire protection colors in the color selection have been correctly translated. Previously, the fire protection colors were only available in German.
Feature: LeanConnect login integrated into the RED CAD app
Login for LeanConnect accounts is now integrated into the RED CAD app, instead of being accessed via the RED CAD portal. This integration simplifies project sharing via the LeanConnect interface and is more user-friendly.
Feature: Steiger 2025 (Switzerland only)
The toolbox for Steiger 2025 data has been implemented.
Improvement: Optimized update file downloads
The automatic update process has been completely redesigned. Downloads now use a more stable method that remains reliable even with a weak internet connection. Interrupted downloads due to poor internet connectivity are now a thing of the past. Additionally, progress is now continuously tracked and displayed correctly.
Fix: Schematic/Circuit Diagram – Automatic Position Indication Corrected
The automatic position inscription could no longer be overwritten with a space. This issue has been resolved.
Fix: Properties window – "More colors" option for text fields no longer causes crash
Previously, it was no longer possible to change the color of text fields via the Properties window. Clicking "More colors" in the color selection window caused a crash. This issue has been resolved.
Improvement: Warning message for excessively long file paths
If a file path exceeded the allowed length of 256 characters (a Windows limitation), the file could not be opened. A corresponding warning message is now displayed.
Fixed: Display problems at high zoom levels
When zooming in (zooming in) on a large drawing area, display problems occurred at a certain zoom level, causing the floor plan or symbols to disappear. This problem has been fixed.
Fixed: Insertion of standard exit symbols corrected
When placing symbols from the Standard Exits toolbar, multiple clicks were previously required for them to be inserted into the plan. This problem has been fixed.
Fixed: Text field size prevents DWG/DXF export
A text field with a size that was too small prevented export to DWG/DXF. This issue has been resolved.
Fixed: Filtering invalid XML characters in text elements
If text containing invalid XML characters was copied into text fields, the file could no longer be saved. These invalid XML characters are now filtered and removed.
Improvement: DWG/DXF Export of Symbol Text Fields Adjusted
The export function has been expanded so that all text fields are now exported as text. This change ensures that text fields can be edited in other CAD programs.
Improvement: New SES Symbols
The SES symbols have been revised and adapted to the new guidelines of the Swiss Fire Service Coordination (FKS). The symbols can now be colored via the Properties window and thus assigned to the corresponding zones.
Fixed: Deleting Symbols from Locked Layers
In previous versions, it was possible to delete individual objects from locked layers. This issue has been corrected, and it is no longer possible to delete objects from locked layers.
